Plaid Enterprises

Karah worked as a Content Creator for Plaid! Plaid is a "do it yourself" craft company that makes a wide variety of crafting supplies such as Folk Art and Apple Barrel Paints, and Mod Podge.

As a Content Creator, Karah created and innovated trend-right content, to inspire the end consumer to purchase Plaid products. She did product development testing, created projects for sales presentations, product packaging, trade shows, and catalogs. She also presented projects for retail point-of-sale signage, customer-specific marketing campaigns, and in-store signage.

Study Abroad Italy

The Study Abroad Italy trip was a fantastic opportunity to see renowned works of art that the YHC art students have studied for years. A few of the museums and churches they visited were the Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Gallerie degli Uffizi, and the Duomo in Florence, the Galleria dell'Accademia and the Basilica San Lorenzo in Rome. Signing Off: 2023 Senior Thesis Art Exhibition

The 2023 Senior Thesis Art Exhibition showcased 9 senior Art and Graphic Design students. Each student's body of work has been carefully researched, diligently critiqued and developed to show their best work. This Gallery Opening has been what they all have worked towards over the past several years.

Student Juried Art Exhibition

During the 2023 Student Juried Art Exhibition, Karah received three awards. Her piece Unity was selected for first place in the 3D Sculpture/Ceramic/Installation category by Jurrier and Artist, Marea Haslett.

Unity was also recognized by Young Harris College's President, Dr. Drew Van Horn, where he awarded Karah with the President's Award. This achievement allowed the opportunity for Unity to be on display on the second floor of Rollins Campus Center, located on Young Harris College's campus.

Karah was presented with the Kappa Pi Award during the exhibition. This award recognizes the student for perseverance, resilience, independence, imagination, enthusiasm for the subject, organization, obedience, and rebellion as an artist and person. Kappa Pi is an International Art Honor Society. Karah was President of the YHC Chapter Iota Delta in 2022 and Vice President in 2023.

Omicron Delta Kappa Initiation

Karah was Inducted into the National Leadership Honor Society; Omicron Delta Kappa, under the Creative and Performing Arts Pillar. As a member of ODK's founding Circle at Young Harris College, Karah was honored to receive this opportunity.

Omicron Delta Kappa's mission is to identify, honor, and develop leaders in collegiate and community life. Encourage collaboration among students, faculty, staff, and alumni to advance leadership. Promote, publicize, and enhance our ideals.

To become a member of ODK, a student must be a junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0. They must also demonstrate leadership in at least one of the five areas: scholarship, athletics, campus or community service, journalism, or creative and performing arts. Additionally, the student must be nominated by a current member of ODK and undergo a rigorous selection process.
